The 2024 Hunter Burton Memorial Open is underway! There are 345 players competing in the Modern $15k, with hundreds more gaming together across not just Magic formats — there’s Modern, Legacy, Limited, Commander, and more all taking place across the room — but across different games as well, with Flesh and Blood and Lorcana as well

With a gathering fit for the tournament’s 10th event, the day opened with a reminder to the huge crowd why we’re here: to uplift each other. For a decade now, friends and strangers have gathered to game together to prevent suicide. That’s been the mantra since the event was founded, and it was especially meaningful as we shared the stories of how the event has made a real difference.

With eight rounds of Modern today headlining the action, there’s a lot to come from the rest of the weekend!
